About 45 years ago, in 1979, …..
At the time when the BEAUDESSIN brand was born, bags and luggage were sold first in large department stores and then in specialty stores, including long-established stores in shopping arcades. Moreover, most of them were foreign brands contracted by powerful wholesalers in a business-like manner, and they were all made in Japan with their marks and patterns. I had the opportunity to accompany them on an inspection tour to Italy, the home of the brand.

There, I witnessed the tremendous difference between what I saw there and the current situation in Japan at that time. The manufacturers were not just making what the wholesalers told them to make, but no matter how small the brand was, it was a family-run business, the makers took pride in their work, and the makers themselves were communicating their products to the world. Even after 45 years have passed, we are still involved in the production of the BEAUDESSIN brand, sharing the hardships and joys of the past, and will continue to devote ourselves to carrying on the passion and pride of the craftsmen who make it their profession.
